Harwich Water Main Flushing Begins April 1st

HARWICH – The Harwich Water Department will begin flushing water mains throughout the community Monday, April 1st through Friday, June 28th as weather permits.

Flushing will take place Monday through Friday between 7pm and 12am in the areas of East Harwich and South Harwich.

The Department said that they will do everything possible to minimize the disturbance during flushing periods.

They ask that residents watch for signs that will be posted notifying them of the flushing areas.

It is also recommended that residents set aside clean water for drinking and cooking purposes should they experience discoloration.

Temporary discoloration of the water and a chlorine taste is to be expected during the flushing period.

Town officials are reminding residents to check water for clarity prior to doing laundry.

If additional information is needed, residents are asked to call 508-432-0304, Monday-Friday from 8am to 4:30pm.
