Harwich Young Singers Program Returns this Summer

HARWICH – The Young Singers Program in Harwich returns for its third year this summer.

The six week session allows young singers to choose their own music and receive free voice lessons.

At the end of the season the singers give a concert.

The program is funded by a bequest by the Libby Stevens Fund of the First Congregational Church in Harwich Center.

It is directed by Marcia Hempel, who teaches voice and piano, directs the Harwich Women’s Chorus, and is Music Director at the First Congregational Church.

All classes are held at First Congregational Church in the Elliot Room in the main church building.

Each singer attends a chorus rehearsal for one hour a week and a private voice lesson for one hour per week.

The program is open for Harwich residents ages 9-16.

Registration and the first chorus class will be Tuesday, July 9.

To preregister, contact the church at 508-432-1053 or Marcia Hempel at [email protected].

There will be a limit of nine singers.
