Harwich Conservation Trust to Sponsor Nightlife Walk in National Seashore

EASTHAM – The Harwich Conservation Trust and the Eastham Conservation Foundation will sponsor a Native Nightlife Walk next month in the Cape Cod National Seashore.

Twelfth generation Cape Codder Todd Kelley and Native American Nipmuc/Wampanoag Marcus Hendricks will lead the walk that explores the cultural and natural nightlife of the Cape on Monday, May 20 from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m.

Participants will learn about the lifeways of the First People as well as old Cape Codders in relation to the rhythms of native flora and fauna at dusk and during the night.

The walk coincides with the May full moon, also called the “Flower Moon.”

Guests will explore the many ways the natural world flourishes after daytime birds and animals go to bed and dawn and dusk, and nocturnal wildlife become active.

Attendees are encouraged to wear walking shoes, long-sleeves, lightweight pants water and a flashlight.

The moderate walk is along a woodland trail, paved bike path, a wooden footbridge and some soft sand.

The walk is $20 per person and pre-registration is required. Visit Harwich conservation trust dot org to register. Space is limited.
