COURTESY OF THE HARWICH CONSERVATION TRUST

HARWICH – The Harwich Conservation Trust was recently awarded a certification which defines excellence in volunteer coordination.

National nonprofit Points of Light lauded HCT for their ability to successfully deliver their mission through volunteer engagement with the Service Enterprise certification.

According to Points of Light, organizations with the certification outperform similar organizations in terms of overall effectiveness and adaptability.

HCT’s volunteer program, which was assessed for this certification, began in 2006, has since been streamlined.

According to HCT, the organization receives $3 for every $1 spent on volunteer programming.

Additionally, HCT is documenting their efforts and enlisting volunteers using more technology than ever before.

Volunteers provide about $80,000 worth of services to HCT every year, according to the organization.
