EASTHAM – Eastham public health officials have closed Schoolhouse and Minister’s Ponds due to a potentially harmful algae bloom.
A statement issued on Monday advised people not to ingest the water and not allow children or pets to drink or swim in the water.
Anyone who comes in contact with the water is advised to rinse off immediately.
Additional testing will be conducted over the next several days, but the algae bloom was not expected to go away quickly.
Those seeking additional information should contact the Eastham Health Department at 508-240-5900, ext. 3229.
