Help Feed The Hungry at Annual Fundraiser

HARWICH – A fundraiser for the Family Pantry is coming to Cape Cod Regional Technical High School on April 11th.  This will be the 26th year that Cape Tech’s Culinary Arts Department and Cape Cod Potters are collaborating to host this event.

There will be three sittings, at 5:30, 6:00, and 6:30.   A “soup line meal” will be served, consisting of soup, a roll, and coffee or tea.

The soup will be served in a handmade pottery bowl that each participant gets to keep.  It is hoped that it will serve as a reminder of hunger on Cape Cod.

The pantry, which opened in 1989, provides food to anyone on the Cape who is in need.

They also have a special relationship with the Greater Boston Food Bank, affording warehouse space for the two large tractor trailer trucks that come several times a month loaded with food for all of the pantries and soup kitchens on Cape Cod.  This means that all of the Cape Agencies can go to Harwich to pick up their food instead of traveling to Boston.

The pantry has a seat on the food bank’s Agency Advisory Council.

Ticket order forms are on line at www.capecodpotters.org and www.thefamilypantry.com.
