Heritage Lights Display is a Mile Longer this Year

gardens aglow01SANDWICH – The biggest lighting display on Cape Cod is at Heritage Museums and Gardens and covers more than nine acres as part of the annual Gardens Aglow Exhibit.

According to Les Lutz, the Heritage director of horticulture, the display continues to get bigger every year.

“We have added over a mile of additional lighting this year,” said Lutz. “We also have more snow flakes. These are very large metal snow flakes that we had constructed that are about 6 feet in diameter.”

Lutz said lighting is only part of the display.

“In our special exhibitions gallery, we have a model train that we constructed with bridges,” Lutz said. “In fact, one of them is actually a replica of the George Washington Bridge and it’s been constructed of all natural materials that we collected in the garden.”

The exhibit is open Fridays through Sundays from 4:30 to 8:30 p.m. until December 28.
