Heritage Museum & Gardens Lights Up for Holiday

gardens aglow01SANDWICH – Heritage Museums and Gardens in Sandwich is hosting the opening night of its annual display, Gardens Aglow, tonight.

Every year between Thanksgiving and Christmas, Heritage offers visitors a holiday display where the gardens are transformed into a winter wonderland, sparkling with seasonal warmth and merriment.

This celebration of lights also includes live performances, decorating demonstrations, carousel rides and much more including Santa in his special place of honor – a vintage Model T Ford!

This annual tradition features over 9.25 miles of lights shining brightly across the Museum’s lawns and buildings.

New this year is a track and suspension bridge made from all natural materials found at Heritage. The bridge designed by Horticulture Director Les Lutz is an exact replica of the famed George Washington bridge in New York. The track has already been put to good use with a vintage ‘G’ Scale Union Pacific Passenger train zooming along the 127′ feet of track.

Gardens Aglow will be open on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays from November 28 – December 28, 2014 from 4:30 – 8:30pm.

Gardens Aglow will be open Friday, Saturdays and Sunday until Monday, December 28.
