Heritage Museum Going Hollywood in 2016

KA_Costume Heritage_041216_01SANDWICHHeritage Museum and Gardens in Sandwich will raise the curtain on its season this month, in a salute to Hollywood.

The museum’s special exhibit Cut! Costume and the Cinema will open Saturday, and feature more than 40 costumes worn by today’s biggest A-listers including Johnny Depp, Robert Downey Jr., Scarlett Johansson, and Kate Winslet.

In addition, the exhibit will feature props, backdrops, and film clips to accentuate the artistry of the movie industry.

“We have over 40 costumes worn by today’s stars to show the cinematic art of costume making and to show how costumes help stars get into their roles,” Heritage CEO and President Ellen Spear said.

Being the largest public garden, the museum’s outdoor installation Natural Threads, opening June 4, will feature the works of 10 contemporary artists from across the country and will be spread out throughout the paths and gardens.

“People will be able to go all around the grounds, get off the beaten path and try to find those very whimsical and provocative displays that get you thinking about nature and the built environment,” Spear said.

Also opening Saturday will be The Adventure Park at Heritage, which includes five different aerial trails between the treetops.
