SANDWICH – Heritage Museums & Gardens is opening up its doors to children at the age of four-years-old and up to first grade during this year’s April school vacation.
The Hundred Acre School at Heritage, an innovative preschool focused on STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Math) education, is hosting a STEM focused vacation week program.
The program will engage children in daily STEM adventures throughout the museum as they have hands-on fun exploring spring and experiencing new things. It will also include daily carousel rides and outdoor fun in all types of weather.
Now entering its sixth year, The Hundred Acre School engages preschoolers and Kindergarten students in active learning and preparation for better success in school through classroom learning, exploration of Heritage’s 100 acres of nature trails and woodlands, and interactive activities with Heritage’s collections, facilities, and gardens.
The school’s mission is to teach the whole child, using children’s natural curiosity and ease at learning through play, while emphasizing STEM as a springboard to multidisciplinary learning.
The program will run between Tuesday, April 16 and Friday, April 19.
Those interested can register for the April Vacation Program now at 100acreschool.org/vacation. Families can choose four or two full or partial days, with options available from 7:30 a.m. through 5:30 p.m.
