MASHPEE -Heroes in Transition is hosting their Heroes In The Park event today and are introducing their new therapy dog Kimber to the public.
The event will honor our country’s military prior to the Cotuit Kettleers game against the Harwich Mariners.
“He’s just a wonderful addition to our ever-growing family and we’re excited to share him with everyone that’s there,” said HIT Executive Director Nicole Spencer.
A five-year old mixed breed from Cozumel, Mexico, Kimber recently graduated from the 12-week CAP training which teaches dogs how to be comfortable and confident in situations they will find themselves in during visits to public events.
“That program’s growing and we’re excited to be able to welcome our new therapy dog into our family,” said Spencer.
In addition to today’s event, Kimber will also be attending a variety of HIT events throughout the year.
Kimber will split his time between attending HIT functions and supporting CAP which provides dog visits to nearly 30 locations throughout Cape Cod.
