Historical Association Hosts Book Program

NANTUCKET – In partnership with the Nantucket Atheneum’s One Book One Island Program, the Nantucket Historical Association will present a series of events at the Whaling Museum.

This year, the program features Transatlantic by Colum McCann.

The NHA will present a “pop-up” exhibit featuring themes and topics from the book. It will be on display from March 9th through the 16th.

The exhibit will include a deeper look at Irish and Irish-American history and how events in the past are relevant to the Nantucket community today.

Civil War era and other artifacts will be displayed along with a selection of historic images from the archives.

There will also be several special events, all of which are free.

The NHA’s mission is to tell the inspiring stories of Nantucket through its collections, programs, and properties.  For additional information, contact Bridgette Hynes at [email protected] or (508) 228-1894, ext. 115.
