visitorsHYANNIS – Cape Cod and the Islands are flooded with visitors this holiday weekend.

The Steamship Authority docks in Hyannis were packed with people from across the country traveling to Nantucket and the Vineyard on Friday.

Many visitors also enjoyed a walk on Hyannis Main Street, frequenting the many shops and restaurants along the roadway.

Donna Frank from Concord, Massachusetts has been to the Cape many times but visited Hyannis for the first time on Friday.

She said she was impressed with everything Hyannis had to offer.

“I really like it, it’s got a lot to offer, lots of great restaurants and shops, great for browsing,” said Frank.

Dave and Carla Vansickle from Brampton, Ontario, Canada were visiting the Cape for the first time this weekend.

“We just happened to have a long weekend, so we took advantage of it and decided to travel, it’s on our bucket list,” said Carla.

Elizabeth Wurfbain, Executive Director of the Hyannis Main Street Business Improvement District said that the holiday weekend will be busy on the Cape.

“People are out of school now, they’re getting ready to come to their summer house, or they’re coming for the week, this is a huge weekend,” said Wurfbain.
