CENTERVILLE – The Home Builders & Remodelers Association of Cape Cod awarded its Toolship and Academic Scholarships Tuesday night at its monthly meeting.
John Mahon, of Brewster, received the Toolship Scholarship. Mahon attends Cape Cod Tech in Harwich and works as an apprentice electrician with Fuller Electric.
The scholarship will assist Mahon in purchasing tools.
The Academic Scholarship was awarded to Upper Cape Tech senior Calvin Sylvia, of Wareham. He is a graduating carpentry student and will be attending the Yestermorrow Design Build School in Vermont.
Sylvia’s long-term goal is to be a fine furniture and cabinet maker on Cape Cod. He is a two-time US gold medalist in cabinet making competition.
