Homeless Prevention Council Kicks off Backpack to School Program

ORLEANS – The Homeless Prevention Council’s 2019 Backpack to School program is underway.

Through the program, the organization provides K through 12 students on the Lower Cape with backpacks and supplies to support their academic efforts.

The program is designed to meet the needs of each student with back to school list from teacher in the region.

The Nauset Rotary Club is enhancing the program this year and is seeking $5,000 for a shoe drive. The Rotary Club’s goal is to raise $5,000 by August 1. That money will be used to provide 150 gift cards to support the purchase of new shoes for children and youth for the upcoming school year.
