BARNSTABLE – Exchange students from Spain are arriving on the Cape Friday with the Student Travel Exchange Program and host families are still needed.

The students, who are primarly between the ages of 14 and 17 will be staying across Cape Cod and the South Coast.

Student Travel Exchange Program Coordinator Bob Collett says hosting is a great opportunity.

“We do have a handful of kids left and time is running out,” said Student Travel Exchange Program Coordinator Bob Collett. “There’s an opportunity here for you to engage in some cultural exchange and make a friend for life.”

Collett details what a volunteer host family would need to provide.

“The expectation for a host family is just to provide a bed. They can share a bedroom with a student of the same gender and approximate age,” he said. “And just make sure that they get a breakfast, lunch and dinner each day.”

The summer program runs until July 30 and the students will take a number of day trips and will end their trip with a three day stay in New York City.
