HYANNIS – Housing Assistance Corporation Board of Directors Chairman David Augustinho said in a statement Friday that the organization is focusing on its mission, after its CEO Rick Presbrey was accused of threatening a client family.

Augustinho says the affordable housing organization is taking the situation seriously.

“We remain confident in our continued ability to provide critical affordable housing and related services to the residents of Cape Cod and the Islands,” he said.

Presbrey, who founded the agency over 40 years ago, has been issued a summons to appear in Barnstable District Court Monday on a misdemeanor charge.

The family who the CEO allegedly threatened is the same family who accused his wife of stealing prescription opiate pills from their rented home last week in court.

An employee at Housing Assistance Corporation reported to police that she heard Presbrey make a threatening comment on the family’s life on May 22.

Presbrey denied making an actual threat.

Presbrey is currently on paid leave while Nancy Davison and Michael Sweeney run the agency’s operations and management.
