HYANNIS – The Housing Assistance Corporation’s third annual Cape Housing Institute will be held on Friday.
HAC Director of Marketing and Strategic Initiatives for Housing Shawna Moos said the event will bring realtors, municipal leaders, and community officials together to examine resources and efforts necessary to develop housing needed in the area.
“This is an opportunity for them to get together, to learn from experts and learn from each other, about how we can best address our housing crisis here,” Moos said.
Massachusetts Secretary of Housing and Economic Development Mike Kennealy will be the keynote speaker at the sold out event, which is being presented for free after contributions from the Community Preservation Fund, the Cape Cod Foundation, and the Cape Cod and Islands Association of Realtors. Other speakers will be present as well.
Moos said this year’s event offers a new single day format, which adds to the ongoing efforts to ensure the Cape Cod community is prepared to tackle housing issues.
“What we’re finding, really, is that no one solution or one agency is going to be able to solve the housing crisis here,” Moos said.
“So, at this institute, we’re really going to be focusing on a variety of solutions.”
The event will be held at the Cape Codder Resort from 8:30 a.m. to 6 p.m.
