DENNIS – An exhibit which takes a wide ranging view of work by local artists who interpret the human figure in realistic and imaginative ways is on display on Cape Cod.
“Go Figure: Exploring the Human Form” is on view until February 3 at the Cape Cod Museum of Art in Dennis.
Exhibit curator Deborah Forman chose the artwork for “Go Figure” from the museum’s permanent collection, along with receiving loans from individual Cape artists, the Berta Walker Gallery, Miller White Fine Arts and private collections.
Guests will experience realistic works from Charles Hawthorne, Aiden Ripley and Robert Douglas Hunter to expressionist pieces by Howard Gibbs and Elliot Orr.
There are also contemporary works by John Grillo, along with dancers and acrobats from Selina Trieff.
The exhibit also features works that put a narrative spin on their figures, along with sculptures that take an individualistic approach to classicism.
