Hurricane Dorian Causing Ferry Cancellations and Delays Across Cape Cod

BARNSTBALE – The Hy-Line High Speed Nantucket ferries are running boat by boat throughout the evening.

The 8 p.m. and 9:20 p.m. Hy-Line ferries to Nantucket have been canceled.

The Woods Hole, Martha’s Vineyard, and Nantucket Steamship Authority has canceled all service to and from Nantucket for the rest of the evening due to the inclement weather forecast.

The Oak Bluffs terminal is closed for the rest of today as well.

All trips are being diverted to Vineyard Haven.

All MV Iyanough trips for Saturday, September 7th have also been canceled.

Additional cancellations are likely to be made on the Nantucket route Saturday morning; however those decisions will be made on a trip by trip basis.

It is also likely that some cancellations will occur on the Vineyard route Saturday morning, those decisions will also be made on a trip by trip basis.

Reservations on the Nantucket route have been put on hold for all trips scheduled for Saturday and Sunday.

Reservations on the Vineyard route have been put on hold from 5:30 a.m. to 1:35 p.m. on Saturday only.

Customers with a reservation during those time frames can keep their book and will be able to travel should weather conditions permit, or they can cancel their reservation and rebook on another day, but no new reservations will be accepted for either of the mentioned time frames.

The Steamship Authority is encouraging customers who have flexibility in their travel plans to make alternate arrangements.

The impending tropical storm is making it increasingly likely that trip cancellations will occur this evening, Saturday, and possibly into Sunday on both routes including:

The Oak Bluffs terminal, which is now closed for the rest of the day, and is likely to remain so on Saturday and possibly into Sunday.

If the trips on Saturday and Sunday are not cancelled due to weather, they will be diverted to Vineyard Haven, just like the canceled trips today.

Service on the MV Iyanough is likely to be affected this evening and has already been canceled for Saturday.

Service on the MV Governor is likely to be affected this evening and all day Saturday.

The MV Sankaty may run in place of the MV Governor during those times, if conditions permit.

Change and cancellation fees are waived due to the storm: to change or cancel a reservation, visit steamshipauthority.com or call 508 477 8600.
