Hyannis Artist Shanties Open for the Season Friday

HYANNIS – The Hyannis HyArts Artist Shanties, now at two locations along Hyannis Harbor, will be open for the 2018 season Friday at 11 a.m.

The town run program provides affordable rental space for Cape Cod artists and artisans to work and sell at the seaside studios.

The program enables artists to gain exposure, connect with other artists and meet consumers from around the region and world.

The artist shanties at Bismore Park and Harbor Overlook, at the corner of South and Ocean Streets, will change artists weekly.

Over 95 artists will be participating in the 2018 program, with artwork that includes photography, jewelry, painting, fiber arts, ceramics, mosaics and woodworking.

The shanties will be open from 11 a.m. until at least 6 p.m. Friday-Sunday, from May 4-June 10 and on Memorial Day.

They will open seven days a week beginning June 10. The hours will be from 11 a.m. through at least 6 p.m. through the end of June, 11 a.m. until at least 8 p.m. in July and August and then from 11 a.m. through at least 6 p.m. from September through October 8.

The shanties at the Harbor Overlook location will also be open from October 12 through December.
