HYANNIS – Democratic Candidate for Barnstable County Commissioner Mark Forest has received the endorsement of the Hyannis firefighters and paramedics.
The organization cited Forest’s work to save the fire training academy and its cleanup a reason for the endorsement.
“Forest will be an energetic and effective advocate for all the Cape Cod firefighters. He knows the importance of training to protect firefighters and the public. Forest has been sensitive to the dangers that firefighters face on the job and the need to protect their health and safety,” said Union President Michael Dalmau.
The union also cited Forest’s work in securing money for a new Hyannis fire boat and leadership on the Otis Coalition, which helped in saving the military base from closure and protecting firefighter jobs at the installation.
Other candidates include Democratic incumbent Mary Pat Flynn and Republicans Linda Bond and Ron Beaty.
