HYANNIS–The Rotary Club of Hyannis will be hosting their 2nd annual Quahog Festival on Sunday from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. The free event will be held at the Hyannis Village Green, and will focus on the promotion of sustainability and the protection of Cape Cod’s natural resources.
“That’s really what the focus is. It is a great time, it’s food, it’s beer and wine, it’s live music, but the event is to shed a spotlight on the Cape’s enviornmental needs,” Chair of the event Bob Bourque said.
Vendors have been asked to limit or eliminate the use of any plastic materials in favor of biodegradeable utensils.
The event will feature live music, food, drinks, and fun activities.
Bourque is excited for the event, but stressed the overall importance of its goal.
“I just hope that the enviornmental aspect of this also comes out in realization to some folks who came for a good time and a beer and a cup of chowder,” he said.
