HYANNIS – A Hyannis teen has been chosen from a field of more than 2,000 to dance on stage with pop mega-star Justin Bieber Wednesday night during his concert in Boston at the TD Garden.

Raquel Wallace, 14, learned last week that she was one of four young performers to appear with Bieber during his performance of the song “Children.”

Wallace auditioned for the part a month ago, but didn’t hear that she was chosen until May 5.

“I started crying. My dance teachers, Keith Silva and Marissa Tavano, they called my mom. I was celebrating Cinco de Mayo and my mom started videotaping me and she told me and I just burst into tears,” said Wallace.

The young performer has traveled throughout the country performing and training with choreographers and instructors since she was three-years-old.

“I’m super-excited, I feel more excited than nervous, so I feel good right now. I don’t really have to do a lot to prepare myself,” she said.

Wallace thinks she’ll likely be the most nervous just before heading on stage Wednesday night.

At the young age of 14, she’s already landed roles with Dora & Friends, Grown Ups 2, Nickelodeon’s Kids Choice Sports Awards, The Measurement of Man and Red Lobster national commercials and voiceovers.

Wallace has appeared in several Broadway shows, including Dream Street at The Pearl Theatre on 42nd Street and Jesus Christ Reality Star.

On Cape Cod, the teen originated the roles of Young Sybill The Musical at Provincetown Theatre and Jean Marie in The Bottom of the Sky with the Cape Rep Theatre.

Wallace has been dancing for 11 years and added acting and singing three years ago. She’s been training at Artistic Dance Studio in Fall River, with instructors Marissa Tavano and Keith Silva.

Tavano said she’s thrilled Wallace was chosen to perform with Bieber.

“She puts her heart into everything that she does, and she’s such a humble, sweet girl. I feel that she really deserves this moment, and I’m just so happy that she was chosen,” said Tavano.

Silva said the teen is mature for her age.

“She’s as calm as a cucumber. We just had an interview here and she hasn’t done a dance since the audition video, and she didn’t miss a step. Honestly, she’s good to go,” said Silva.

Considered a triple threat in the industry, Wallace said she enjoys singing, acting and dancing, but doesn’t really have a favorite among the three.

The teen also believes in giving back to the community with her non-profit “Little By Little” organization, which advocates against child abuse.

Through the program, Wallace plans fundraisers and teaches performing arts to younger children as a way to help them find safe, permanent homes.

Her family owns Cape Tire Service in Hyannis.
