HYANNIS – The New Classics Company is offering a wide variety of live stage events this summer at the Guyer Barn on South Street in Hyannis.
The sci-fi radio show “Aries” will be presented Wednesday night in the barn. It follows a young girl as she wakes up to find that her world isn’t what she thought it was.
On Friday, a three-person adaptation of George Lucas’s classic “A New Hope” promises to have the audience in hysterics – “Laugh It Up Fuzzball” will start at 7pm and will play again the following night.
Fans of “Through the Looking Glass” and “Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland” may enjoy a contemporary adaptation by Greg Parker called “Alice” – which will premiere in the Guyer Barn on August 6.
Every Friday night at 9 p.m. throughout the summer, the New Classics Company will present free improv shows. Anyone is welcome to join the improv group, with rehearsals happening every Wednesday.
A 24-hour event starting July 21 will invite half a dozen writers to create ten-minute plays, which will then be handed to directors and actors to be debuted on August 1.
