Inaugural Exhibit at Barnstable County Fair to Address Masculinity

KA_Independence House_Hyannis_winter_cloudy_022416_001BARNSTABLE – After exhibiting earlier at Cape Cod Community College, a travelling display focusing on reforming and informing masculinity will make its way to the Barnstable County Fair from July 18th to the 24th.

The display features 13 men from different backgrounds and different parts of Massachusetts, each of whom have made a commitment to promote “healthy masculinity” and prevent violence against women as part of the White Ribbon campaign.

The initiative was created by Jane Doe, Inc. and the Massachusetts Coalition Against Sexual Assault and Domestic Violence. Independence House, a local organization, is sponsoring the display’s presence on Cape Cod.

Specifically, the exhibit will target young men and boys to take the White Ribbon pledge and to show support for the cause.

Jane Doe, Inc. established the statewide White Ribbon campaign in 2008. Recent collaborations between Independence House and Yarmouth Police have encouraged similar community support for the cause.
