Informational Meeting to be Held for Route 149 Improvement Project

MARSTONS MILLS – The community will receive an update later this month on the planned Route 149 streetscape improvement project in Marstons Mills.

The project aims to improve pedestrian and bicycle access and overall traffic safety, along with rehabilitating aging infrastructure and enhancing the streetscape between Route 28 and Lovell’s Lane. The state funded project will also include portions of Main Street and River Road near Route 149.

The public informational meeting on April 25 at Liberty Hall at 6:30 p.m. will allow residents to review the improvement plans and learn about the timetable for the work.

The scope of the work will include new and improved sidewalks, landscaping, decorative streetlighting, new or resurfaced pavement, improved crosswalks, a boardwalk along Mill Pond, additional parking and drainage improvements.

Construction is expected to begin in the fall and continue through 2019 with breaks between Memorial Day and Labor Day and over the winter.
