WEST YARMOUTH – The internationally recognized Jazz Ambassadors of Washington, DC will continue its long tradition of presenting free public performances when it appears in West Yarmouth later this month.
The Yarmouth Chamber of Commerce is sponsoring the performance on Thursday, March 28 at 7 p.m. at Mattacheese Middle School.
The Jazz Ambassadors is the official touring big band of the United States Army. The 19-member ensemble, which was formed in 1969, has received great acclaim at home and abroad creating the original American art form – jazz.
Jazz Ambassadors performances are for all audiences and feature a diverse repertoire of big band swing, bebop, Latin, contemporary jazz, standards, popular tunes, Dixieland, vocals, and patriotic selections.
The ensemble has performed in all 50 states, Canada, Mexico, Japan, India and throughout Europe.
