JFK Hyannis Museum Opens ‘RFK: Ripple of Hope’ Exhibit

Kerry Kennedy

HYANNIS – An exhibit commemorating the 50th anniversary of Robert F. Kennedy’s 1968 presidential campaign opened Monday at the John F. Kennedy Hyannis Museum.

“Robert F. Kennedy: Ripple of Hope” was a collaboration between the museum and the RFK Human Rights Foundation and focuses on his time serving as U.S. Attorney General, a U.S. Senator and during the campaign.

“What really hope in this is to convey his messages regarding human rights and social justice which certainly have import applications today and every year, but more so today,” said John Allen, the museum’s executive director.

The exhibit was designed to capture the life of RFK and even covers his early years in the Kennedy family, including some rarely seen photos of his time of Cape Cod.

“It really is meant to convey who he was and what this represented as far as someone who made a major difference in the 60s,” Allen said.

The exhibit runs through 2019.

RFK’s daughter Kerry Kennedy and Connecticut State Senator Ted Kennedy Jr., his nephew, were guests of the museum during an opening ceremony for the exhibit.

Kerry was also a featured speaker Monday night at the Cape Codder Resort & Spa for a Museum Foundation Speaker Series program.
