HYANNIS – The life and legacy of Robert Kennedy will be in focus at two events this upcoming week.
The JFK Hyannis Museum welcomes Larry Tye, the author of the new book “Bobby Kennedy: The Making of a Liberal Icon,” to the Dreamland Theater on Nantucket on Tuesday and Wednesday at the Cape Codder in Hyannis.
Tuesday’s event begins at 2 p.m., with Wednesday’s event starting at 5 p.m.
The book has garnered favorable reviews from the New York Times, saying Tye’s work brings new vitality to a familiar subject. The book was released last month and is approaching the top 10 on the New York Times bestseller list.
“The New York Times book review section gave it a very favorable review particularly because it captures what [reviewer] David Nasaw believed is the moment that Bobby started to recognize this social justice side of his mission,” said JFK Museum President John Allen.
“It’s a message I certainly think is timeless,” Allen added, saying interest remains strong in the slain former senator.
