HYANNIS – Bank of America has awarded the JFK Hyannis Museum a $25,000 grant in celebration of the Museum’s 25th anniversary.
The funding comes from the Bank’s Charitable Foundation and will be used to help bolster the museum’s educational programs.
Education offerings at the museum will be focused on elements of civic education and the implementation of the STEM curriculum, according to museum officials.
Museum Director John Allen says the money will help the museum reach more students. “We are extremely grateful Bank of America chose to invest in our efforts to enhance our focus on fostering civic engagement and increase our educational offerings for students across Cape Cod.”
“The funds will be used to deepen the impact of our expanding curriculum across the region.” Allen added that a portion of the grant money is dedicated to helping fund school transportation costs to and from the museum.
Museum officials are also preparing a civics lesson plan called “Making Your Voice Heard,” designed to help students become more active in civic life in ways that can inspire others.
“We are always looking for fresh ways to engage young people to help prepare to make them to make history themselves. This grant from Bank of America will help us do that,” Allen said.
