Jr. Celtics to Host Camp For Local Kids This August

HYANNIS- The Jr. Celtics will take over the Hyannis Youth and Community Center for a morning of basketball, fun, and learning this August.

“Junior Celtics… [takes] the values and lessons of the game of basketball that have served a team to… build… [a] legacy, and [shares them] with young people in… [the] community,” says Sam Taub, Jr. Celtics Director.

The clinic will include a mix of large group activities and exercises, small break out drills, friendly competitions, and improvement-based games.

Celtics VIPs will also be in attendance during the event to engage with players, and participate in activities.

Taub says that the event serves as a way to teach “the values of basketball… on-court development… healthy off-court development… [and] life skills. It [highlights] everything it takes to be a champion and sharing it with young people.”

As a way for kids to remember their experience, the Celtics will also provide a team photographer to professionally take pictures that will capture the experience.

In addition, clinic goers will also get the chance to receive a special edition Jr. Celtics Cape Cod Clinic t-shirt, and a post-event goody bag.

Camp will kick off on August 4th at HYCC from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. (drop off begins at 8:30 a.m. / pick up ends at 12:30 p.m.)

The cost of the event is set at $120. For more information on how to register for the event, you can visit https://www.nba.com/celtics/jrceltics
