Judge Determines 6 More Months at Bridgewater for Bourne Murder Suspect

GavelBOURNE – A Brockton District Court judge has ruled that the suspect in February’s triple shooting in Bourne will stay at Bridgewater State Hospital for another six months.

Adrian Loya, 31, a Coast Guard information technology specialist from Maryland, is accused of murdering Coast Guard Petty Officer Lisa Trubnikova and injuring her spouse Coast Guard Petty Officer Anna Trubnikova at their Monument Beach home.

Loya is also accused of shooting Bourne Police Officer Jared MacDonald who was among the officers responding to the crime scene.

Loya’s defense attorney J. Drew Segadelli said the hearing for Loya was held at Bridgewater State Hospital last Tuesday.

Segadelli said he is pleased with the decision because it allows his client to continue to get the evaluation and care that he needs.

Segadelli said he expects a grand jury meeting on the case to hand down an indictment, which would move the case to Barnstable Superior Court from Falmouth District Court.
