Quoizel Wilson is led into court. He has been convicted of first degree murder in the death of Trudie Hall in 2010.

BARNSTABLE – After deliberating for approximately two days, the 12-member jury in the Quoizel Wilson trial found the defendant guilty of first degree murder in the death of 23-year-old Trudie Hall of Nantucket.

Wilson told police he was having an affair with Hall. She was pregnant with Wilson’s child when she was reported missing from the Mid Cape area in late July 2010.

Her skeletal remains were found a year and a half later in woods off Hayway Road in East Falmouth. She had been shot to death.

Wilson was also found guilty of assault and battery with a dangerous weapon, a firearm, and improper disposal of a body.

The first degree murder conviction means Wilson is automatically sentenced to life in prison without parole.

The assault and battery charge carries a maximum penalty of 10 years in prison. The improper disposal of a body charge is a misdemeanor that brings a penalty of six months in jail.

The jury notified Judge Gary Nickerson yesterday afternoon  that the panel had come to a decision on a verdict, and the jury filed into the courtroom at 1:35 p.m. on Friday to deliver the verdict, two weeks after jury selection began on May 4.
