Kanzer Holds Rally With State Senator Wolf and Former Governor Dukakis

kanzerHYANNIS – Cape and Islands State Senator Dan Wolf and former Governor Michael Dukakis attended a campaign rally on Saturday for Aaron Kanzer in his bid for the 2nd Barnstable State Representative seat.

Kanzer held a rally at the Barnstable Democratic Party Headquarters on Main Street in Hyannis with volunteers and supporters before knocking on the doors of voters.

Dukakis taught Kanzer for a semester while he was a student at Northeastern University.

Kanzer said that although he is 21 years old, he has a lot to bring to the position and the community.

“The community has really embraced the fact that age shouldn’t really be the determinate of what you can do, it’s more or less the new ideas you bring to the table and you’re angle at the job and how you intend to the help the community which you grew up,” said Kanzer.

Wolf, who is not running for re-election, said that having young people like Kanzer run for office is good for the Democratic Party.

“I’m very excited that Aaron Kanzer represents a new generation of people who are engaged in politics, who have a real civic understanding and commitment to moving things forward,” said Wolf.

Barnstable Town Councilor Will Crocker is competing against Kanzer for the position in the November 8th election.

Current 2nd Barnstable State Representative Brian Mannal is not seeking re-election.
