WASHINGTON, D.C. – Congressman William Keating (D-Bourne) has co-sponsored a bi-partisan bill introduced in the House to help improve the healthcare of women veterans.
The Women Veterans Access to Quality Care Act addresses the gaps in healthcare faced by women veterans.
It would require all VA facilities to provide access to an obstetrician-gynecologist and ensure women’s health guidelines are being followed.
“Women are the fastest growing group of veterans and too many of our VA facilities are not equipped to deal with their medical needs,” Keating said.
A version of the bill has also been introduced in the Senate.
