Keating to Host Behavioral Health Roundtable

William Richard Keating

NEW BEDFORD – Congressman Bill Keating will be in New Bedford tomorrow to host a round table discussion on behavioral health issues.

The meeting will feature community stakeholders, families, and advocates sharing their personal accounts of the substance abuse epidemic that is sweeping the region and what Keating sees as the success of the Affordable Care Act in providing access to treatment.

The meeting will be geared specifically toward the implications of the latest iterations of health care on behavioral health matters as President Trump and congressional republicans seek to make substantive changes to the nation’s health care law.

Among the list of more than a dozen behavioral health professionals on the guest list is Gosnold on Cape Cod President Ray Tamasi who has worked to develop a comprehensive prevention division, integrating behavioral health clinicians with primary medical and specialty practices,  and has implemented a school based counseling program which is now in ten Cape Cod schools.

The roundtable discussion will take place on Monday, from 10:30 AM until noon, in The White Room at Saint Luke’s Hospital in New Bedford
