King Richard’s Faire Opens in Carver in September
CARVER – King Richard’s Faire, New England’s largest and longest running Renaissance Fair, kicks off on September 5.
It runs through October 25 on weekends and Monday holidays and is tucked away on 80 acres of forest off Route 58 in Carver.
The faire’s 34th season offers guests a full day of live, interactive entertainment, including knights jousting on horseback and eight stages filled with song and dance, stunts and storytelling.
Every Saturday afternoon, the King’s Stage offers themed contests and events to add variety to the festival-like entertainment lineup.
Visitors are invited to enjoy the faire’s spit-roasted turkey legs, buttery ears of corn, bowls filled with chowder and stew, and ringlets of fries. Beverages on sale include champagne, wine and brew.
Shoppers can stroll through the mock 16th century village filled with the wares of more than 100 artisans, including New England artists.
Throughout the “village,” visitors will encounter fantasy and wonder through minstrels, musicians, acrobats, stilt walkers, giant puppets, wenches and more.
Tickets are $29 for adults and $16 for kids aged 4 to 11.
Parking is free and the faire hours are 10:30 a.m. to 6 p.m.
