SANDWICH – The Kiwanis Club of Sandwich is accepting grant applications from local organizations and charities serving children in the town through May 13.
Grant funding comes from the Sandwich Kiwanis Club’s Gerald and Claire Leverault Fund which was established in 2003 through a estate bequest.
Since then, the Kiwanis Club of Sandwich has distributed money in their name to the town of Sandwich and other Cape organizations that serve Sandwich children.
Leverault Grants are awarded on competitive basis and screened through a separate Kiwanis sub-committee.
Grant requests must meet the Kiwanis mission of “Changing the world one child and one community at a time” and provide academic and/or cultural enrichment for students in the Sandwich School system and for projects outside the Sandwich School System that similarly benefit the townspeople.
The purpose of the Levreault Grant Program is to assist Sandwich School teachers and local non-profit organizations in their efforts to create projects and present events that directly benefit the youth and/or townspeople of Sandwich.
