Landscape Paintings on Display at Barnstable Town Hall Through End of June

HYANNIS – A series of landscape paintings from a Cape Cod artist are on display for the rest of the week at Barnstable Town Hall.

“Off-Season Cape Cod” and “En Plein Air in Transylvania” by Anne Tochka is being exhibited in the Town Hall Hearing Room and Selectmen’s Conference Room, respectively, through the end of June as part of the “Art on Loan” program, which displays the works of local artists.

Tochka earned her Bachelors of Fine Arts in Communications Design with a focus in Illustration and a minor in Art History from Pratt Institute in 2007.

She has had a career in several art and design fields including visual merchandising, product design, illustration, and her personal painting and sculpting.

The “Off-Season Cape Cod” exhibit is a series of landscapes that share the paradox of feeling completely alone in the world, but at the same time grounded and connected to living plants and animals.

The “En Plein Air” exhibit details a summer in Romania while in residence. The landscape paintings feature winding cobblestone streets, red shingled roofs, fields of wildflowers and incredible mountain backdrops.

The exhibition is open to the public. Town Hall is open weekdays from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
