POCASSET – A search of a home in Pocasset turned up over 30 marijuana plants capable of producing tens of thousands of dollars worth of the drug, according to police.
Justin Groom, 25, was arrested and charged with marijuana distribution charges after a search of the 8 Cheryl Lane home.
Police say the home was almost completely filled with marijuana growing equipment and drug paraphernalia, with the growing equipment valued at about $50,000. The only furnishings in the home were a bed and a couch, according to police.
Police say they also found paperwork detailing marijuana sales.
The investigation stemmed from the September arrest of David Landry on heroin trafficking charges. Police say an investigating into Landry’s trafficking organization led them to Groom and the Pocasset operation.
Police say more arrests are expected in connection with the investigation.
The search was conducted by officers from Barnstable, Bourne, Falmouth, Mashpee, and the County Sheriff’s Department.
