               Thomas Latanowich

BARNSTABLE – The career criminal accused of the murder of Yarmouth Police Sgt. Sean Gannon has been indicted for allegedly assaulting another inmate at the Barnstable County Correctional Facility last year.

An indictment was handed down by a Barnstable County grand jury on April 11th.

In November of 2018, 30 year old Thomas Latanowich, at the time in jail on the murder charges, allegedly assaulted the other inmate with a razor after a fist fight at the facility.

Officials say the altercation was caught on video surveillance cameras.

Latanowich has been charged with mayhem, assault to maim, and assault and battery with a dangerous weapon.

The other inmate involved suffered a two inch gash on his face in the assault.

A hearing date on the assault charges has not yet been set. Latanowich is scheduled for an appearance in the Gannon case on May 16th.

He allegedly shot and killed Gannon last April during the execution of a warrant in Marstons Mills.
