West Yarmouth – A new training program designed for those serving or interested in serving on non-profit boards is being offered by Leadership Cape Cod.
“One of the things we’ve talked about and one of the things I’ve found from talking to people around the Cape, is that one of the things we really need to do is increase the skill set of people who sit on these boards”, said Leadership Cape Cod executive director Bob Cody
The three hour Non-profit program will focus on roles and responsibilities for members of boards or directors. The session will also utilize real life scenarios, with attendees role-playing as members of a sitting board.
The seminar will take place on September 30th from 5:30-8:30 p.m. at the Hampton inn and suites in West Yarmouth.
“Boards a responsible for two things, fiscal responsibility and strategic planning and everyone needs to understand the components of those and how they relate to the day to day activities of a board member”, said Cody
Registration is $25 and a light dinner will be served.
“I think it’s absolutely critical for the success, not only for the non-profits, but for the success of the region”, said Cody
