Lighthouse Charter Students Head To Knoxville for Destination Imagination Tournament

dest imagBREWSTER – Seven students from the Cape Cod Lighthouse Charter School are set to compete in a global challenge.

The team has qualified for the Destination Imagination World Tournament in Knoxville, Tennessee by advancing through both the local and state competitions.

They departed for Knoxville early this morning. This is the second straight year they have qualified for the global tournament.

Destination Imagination participants work in teams to overcome challenges in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics.

Lighthouse Charter School Executive Director Paul Niles said the students have also been tackling the fundraising challenge over the past month, raising money for their trip outside local grocery stores on the Cape.

The students, all eighth graders, are Bevin Burns of Orleans, Michael Sanborn of Yarmouthport, Jack Andre of Yarmouthport, Tori Sci of Brewster, Noah Smith of Brewster, Christian Griffin of Brewster, and Vicky Whitney of Brewster
