Lindstrom Campaigns on Cape

HYANNIS – U.S. Senate candidate Beth Lindstrom was on Cape this week as she seeks to challenge incumbent Senator Elizabeth Warren this November.

Lindstrom, who served in the administration of former Republican Gov. Mitt Romney, was campaigning in the region.

She toured area cranberry bogs to learn more about the industry and met with Barnstable County Commission Chairman Leo Cakounes.

Lindstrom wanted to learn about the intersection between the businesses and local elected officials and understand how she could play a role.

“My intention is to understand where someone like myself who would be an advocate in Washington D.C. can play a role,” she explained.

“Because that’s what’s important here, to make sure that business thrive and that’s what it’s all about is making sure that we create the jobs and have people who can fill these jobs,” she said.

The candidate is also looking to debate her fellow Republican candidates, Geoff Diehl and John Kingston, in the September primary.

Linstrom was also critical of Democratic incumbent Senator Elizabeth Warren and her recent announcement that she would work to abolish Immigrations and Customs Enforcement.

She said Warren’s plan for open borders would lead to “chaos” in the United States.

Lindstrom also maintains that Warren is also working to potentially run for president in 2020.

On Cape Cod issues, Lindstrom said she has been meeting with small business about their future and the troubles they are having getting workers.

She also said she’s help address the wastewater issues facing Cape Cod in the coming years.

Lindstrom also took time to ride the Cape Cod Rail Trail Thursday as part of her training for the Pan Mass Challenge later this summer.
