MASHPEE – Two public listening sessions will be held by the Cape Cod Commission and staff from the Town of Mashpee next month to discuss the Mashpee Rotary Corridor Study.

The listening sessions will include an overview of project goals and existing conditions, followed by an interactive group discussion.

The focus of the two sessions will be to gather public feedback on issues, opportunities, and visions for the future of the corridor. Groups or parties interested in sharing their unique perspective on challenges or potential changes to the rotary are encouraged to reach out to the study team to set up a brief meeting in advance of the listening sessions.

The Mashpee Rotary is a five-leg, major regional transportation node with the intersections of Route 28, Route 151, Great Neck Road North, and Great Neck Road South. The Mashpee Rotary and its approaches have been identified as a priority for investigation due to congestion and safety issues.

The Cape Cod Commission, under the Unified Planning Work Program, is conducting a transportation planning study for the corridor with the goal of developing context-sensitive improvements that will provide safe and convenient access within the study area for all users of the roadway system including pedestrians, bicyclists, transit users, and motorists.

A third public meeting will be scheduled in late summer to discuss identified potential improvement alternatives.

The sessions will be held on Thursday, April 11 at the Mashpee Public Library Event Room, located at 64 Steeple Street in Mashpee at 1:00 p.m. and 5:00 p.m.
