BARNSTABLE – The “Art on Loan” program, which displays the work of local artists on the meeting room walls in Barnstable Town Hall, feature the works of L. Michelle Law.

The displays are located in the Selectmen’s Conference Room and the Town Hall Hearing room on the second floor in Barnstable Town Hall through October 30.

Michelle Law was born and raised in Jacksonville, Illinois where her love for architecture and local wildlife were inspired by neighborhood walks and Sunday drives with family.

Michelle’s early fascination with children’s book illustration and her experience as a staff member at her hometown library fueled her passion to create narrative art.

Backyard birds, bungalows and moonlit landscapes appear often in her work.

Michelle moved to Cape Cod with her husband Mark in 2000 and was worn many hats in her artistic life ever since.

She spent several years working in a department store display, has created set dressing for theaters Cape wide and is a frequent exhibitor at area galleries and museums.

She is currently a curator and art instructor at Cotuit Center for the Arts and the Centerville Historical Museum.

The Artwork on Loan program provides a venue for local artists to display their work.
