CHATHAM – The Coast Guard Auxiliary Flotilla stationed in Chatham will be offering free public Paddleboard Safety Classes this spring.
In response to the recent growth in paddleboard sports – kayaking, canoeing and paddle boarding – certified Coast Guard Auxiliary instructors will provide an overview of paddleboard equipment required by law; useful additional equipment; planning a paddleboard outing; situational awareness; safety tips; water emergencies; avoiding and treating hypothermia; what to do when your craft capsizes; and more.
Pre-registration is not required and there is no charge for the two-hour sessions. Dennis Police Headquarters is located at 90 Bob Crowell Road in South Dennis.

The classes will be held at the Dennis Police Department on April 22, May 22 and June 19. All classes will be held from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m.
