BOSTON – The Massachusetts Cultural Council has approved over $74,000 in funding for local cultural councils in the 1st Plymouth and Bristol District.
The funds support a broad range of cultural activities that benefit local residents and support jobs in the non-profit culture sector.
Carver, Middleborough and Wareham Cultural Councils were among the recipients.
The awards were $4,800 for Carver, $8,000 for Middleborough and $6,300 for Wareham.
Local cultural councils make up the largest public grassroots arts network in the country and they provide funding to every city and town in Massachusetts through the efforts of more than 2,300 volunteers.
The councils support local arts and history, school field trips and concerts and exhibitions.
