BOSTON (AP) — Gov. Charlie Baker takes pride in his reputation as a “fix-it” governor. But as the Republican wraps up his first year in office, he seems keenly aware that going forward, his administration will be judged on how solutions are working.

Baker said in an interview with The Associated Press that his administration fully “owns” problems in state government going forward and hopes to continue demonstrating improvements in the future.

He garnered eye-popping performance approval ratings in 2015. One national poll even ranked him as the most popular governor in America.

Voters appeared to respond favorably to Baker’s response to massive breakdowns in the Boston-area transit system during a brutal stretch of snow and cold.

But he acknowledges the MBTA is far from back on track.
